SFT began as a thought developed by Govindji and Kantisen Shroff, now a thriving organization it functions in the field of rural & tribal development. Primary Mission of the Foundation is to empower these communities to develop their capacities for improving livelihood. SFT is engaged in intensive works and programs addressing the needs of Livelihood, Health, Education, Skill Development and Natural Resource Management. Teaching the tribal population in Vadodara, Gujarat to organize their land into productive farms, instill modern practices of agriculture, ensure food security, and develop computer and English speaking skills to open new opportunities for tribal youths in the Information Technology sector. SFT established three equipped hospitals for serving these isolated communities, with prompt and affordable health services. Beyond the basic needs there are numerous ways SFT has brought focus on educating adult local population, sanitation for their family, cleanliness surroundings, potable water, foods and nutrition, availing services like and savings/banking. Today the activities of SFT have spread 412 villages with an impressive shift in the socio-economic scenario of the tribal community.
